WITH THIS TYPE OF CHILDREN’S FLOORING, CAN I EXPAND THE SIZE OF THE PLAY AREA IN THE FUTURE?
Indeed, we can expand the area. Plus, there are solutions for matching the colours of the different stages.
ARE THE COLOURS OF THE PAVING DURABLE ONCE IN PLACE?
Our colours on the upper layer are durable, although if the client obeys all the regulations of use and maintenance, the average useful lifetime of the rubber will be extended.
DO I HAVE TO PUT INCLINATIONS IN THE BASE FOR BETTER WATER DRAINAGE?
Yes, it is advisable. Nowadays there are truly innovative systems of draining floors, but it is always recommendable to leave an inclination.
IS THE RUBBER PAVING DRAINABLE?
One of the features of rubber paving is its permeability. The rubber tiles drain best. For this reason, in general it is recommended that the foundation be slighted sloped, and, where possible, gabled with grilling, or that another system which encourages drainage is employed.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO MANUFACTURE RUBBER FLOORING PAVING IN SITU WITH IRREGULAR SHAPES AND VOLUME, AND DIFFERENT THICKNESSES?
Yes, areas with different colours, shapes, and even thicknesses can indeed be made, according to the HIC regulations that are applied to the playground apparatus.
IS IT NECESSARY TO HAVE A CONCRETE FOUNDATION TO INSTALL THE PAVING?
It is not essential but it is recommended. Apart from that, the rubber paving in situ can also be installed on terrazzo, asphalt, rock fill etc. but never on compacted sand. The rubber tiles can be installed on top of well compacted sand or earth, although for this we recommend an area with a raised edge to be used with dovetail tiles.
IS THERE ANY SPECIAL CARE OR MAINTENANCE NEEDED FOR THE RUBBER PAVING?
Of course; as the name indicates, the rubber paving is safety paving for the most part. Therefore, in some cases there are some regulations of use that must be obeyed. In public playgrounds, we advise placement of a sign that indicates some restrictions to avoid misuse.
CAN RUBBER TILES BE REPLACED WITH CONTINUOUS RUBBER PAVING ON-SITE?
It can indeed, without any problem. The only thing to bear in mind is the current state of the base, and to make sure you thoroughly clean or repair the foundation, if need be.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE THIS TYPE OF MATERIAL IN OTHER CONSTRUCTIONS AND SITUATIONS THAT ARE NOT FOR PLAYGROUNDS?
It is possible to use and work the rubber on site for situations other than playground flooring. For example, this type of flooring is currently used in interior design and architecture to create ornamental features.
